Chiku is a free-standing bookshelf produced by Italian manufacturer Porro between the years 2008 and 2013. Initially conceived while looking out at a bamboo forest, the different axis of the poles are both a visual and physical representation of this, whilst allowing for an extremely rigid structure due to the intersecting angles. With the five slim black shelves being connected by seven black painted metal poles, hovering in space to challenge gravity.
